Slightly gnome/gonk mad!!! This is just the start......Christmas cards and coasters coming too, all gnomes!! Everyone is an artist in their own right, never let anyone tell you different!! I don't think Greece has come to appreciate the gnome to its fullest extent, I hope to change that, (good luck to that I hear you say!) Yep, I will agree with you there, but it won't stop me trying! So, starting out small with gnome brooches/pins/badges, then shall progress onto larger things! Have a super day!  The Cat

Hi there once again, we have had a lot of fun making these, and for a good cause too, each felt paw brooch / pin will help the animals who are currently in the shelter Vrouva farm  www.vrouvafarm.org  on the island of Aegina, paws can be purchased from www.catcup.eu on the charity page. All proceeds will go to the animals, and boy are there a lot of them, all lovingly cared for by a super team, until they find their forever homes.  We have many different colours to offer, if you require one that we don't have just let us know at thecatinacupemail@gmail.com and we will get one or as many as you require made up right away. Have a good one :-)   The Cat

#Napkins for Decoupage Decoupage..... is EXTREEMLY addictive. I got back into it over lock down, joined a few napkin swapping groups and BOOM, have more napkins than I can shake a stick at, but they are all so beautiful, unlimited designs, and just can't get enough, so I decided to find some interesting ones and put them on the site www.catcup.eu. We are nearly up to 200 designs, and I am hoping I will find more while I am back home in Scotland for the summer.  You can cover virtually anything with a napkin! They are great in mixed media projects, junk journals, tags, presents can be made, old furniture spruced up, possibilities are endless, my next project is to decoupage an old chest of drawers. It is black and chipped, I will chalk paint it a light sandy colour and add sea themed napkins and wooden die cuts for a 3D effect. Before and after will be posted as it happens. It will probably take a couple of weeks, but if it comes out as I envision, I will be more than happy....

Back again. Do you ever get those days when the creativity just wont flow?! It's so annoying! I was  like that for 6 days,  I had no idea how to get out of the slump. There were a ton of ideas going around my head, but when I sat down to work on something, it just wouldn't work out. I was all thumbs too!  So I decided instead of brooding over my inability to formulate my ideas, I would take a drive,  just a few hours away from the table. I ended up at the beach, a slight breeze was blowing, the waves were rolling in, and all you could hear were the seagulls and the water.  It was fresh, invigorating, (the sea was bloody cold) but it literally got rid of the web my mind seemed to be trapped in. So now I'm a little more creative, and my projects are back on track, some are even turning out like I had hoped. If you ever get stumped, walk away from the table, get some fresh air, breathe, your head and hands will thank you for it! Nature does wonders for us, t...
Hi there!  Well this is the first time I am doing this (blogging), so any tips for improvement are welcome! :-)  Ok, where to start....the name... The Cat in a Cup actually came from my teaching days when I was trying to explain to my students learning English, what the difference was between in/on/under/over, I used to draw a cat in a mug, but mug, well it just doesn't sound right! so changed it to cup. I have always loved making things, worked in a bead shop when I was 12 and got hooked. I also loved the shop idea, but as someone who has a 100 things on the go all at once, I needed something a little more flexible. Hence the online shop. I am trying to get my friends involved too, so some things will be designed by them. The things I make, and there are many, are made with love, crafting isn't just a hobby for me, it's a way of life, (my family has to live with it too!!) glue, paint, paper, string, beads and tools spread out over various tables that I just happen to be wo...
