Hi there!

Well this is the first time I am doing this (blogging), so any tips for improvement are welcome! :-)

Ok, where to start....the name... The Cat in a Cup actually came from my teaching days when I was trying to explain to my students learning English, what the difference was between in/on/under/over, I used to draw a cat in a mug, but mug, well it just doesn't sound right! so changed it to cup.

I have always loved making things, worked in a bead shop when I was 12 and got hooked. I also loved the shop idea, but as someone who has a 100 things on the go all at once, I needed something a little more flexible. Hence the online shop. I am trying to get my friends involved too, so some things will be designed by them.

The things I make, and there are many, are made with love, crafting isn't just a hobby for me, it's a way of life, (my family has to live with it too!!) glue, paint, paper, string, beads and tools spread out over various tables that I just happen to be working at. I am sure fellow crafters have the same problem, if not, what am I doing wrong? Is there ever hope of a tidy house?

The Cat in a Cup is a project which I hope, eventually, (as I am just starting out), will be useful to fellow crafters and animal lovers, craft wise, gift wise, supply wise. I tend to make only one of each item, so no two things are exactly the same, (unless requested). Wedding favours, for example, which will be available next month, will be identical of course.

I mentioned animal lovers above, one of the pages on the site is dedicated to Vrouva Farm animal sanctuary located on the island of Aegina. All proceeds from that page go to supporting their cause. The link for them is found on the charity page. I personally have 2 rescue dogs and a stray cat that adopted us, (so he is no longer stray). Tales of them at a later date! Vrouva farm helps all animals, farm and domestic, they find new homes for them here in Greece and abroad.

Thanks for taking the time to read my first blog!

The Cat.
